Current waste management contractor IPM-Construction and Development Corporation (IPM-CDC) is currently the lone bidder for a garbage collection, hauling, and disposal contract with Bacolod City.

Bidding opened last month.

Bids and Awards Committee vice chair, Atty. Allyn Luv Dignadice, noted bidding will remain open until Tuesday, March 20.

The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod earlier allotted a P72 million budget for the contract, with the winning bidder expected to be paid P8 million a month.

The contract will run from April to December of this year.

Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) chair, Atty. Maphilindo Polvora, earlier noted, the pre-bid conference, a requirement of RA 9184, or the Government Procurement Reform Act, was only attended by IPM-CDC.

The city government previously provided a three-month extension of their contract with IPM-CDC, which spanned from January to March of this year./NC, WDJ
