A 26-year-old man was rushed to a hospital in Bacolod City late Sunday evening after he was shot while trying to breakup a fight in Barangay Sang-ang, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victim as Joel Villanueva, a resident of Sitio Minnesota in the said barangay.

La Castellana municipal police said Villanueva tried to breakup a commotion between two parties when he was accidentally shot by a still-unidentified suspect.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his buttocks and back.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident./DGB, WDJ
