Canlubang wins

Canlubang won the Philippine Airlines (PAL) Interclub Golf Senior Tournament yesterday at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club, defeating the Luisita Golf Club, 573-565, and capturing their tenth title.

“This is for Mike,” said Canlubang captain Luigi Yulo, referring to Miguel Preysler, a former national player who died of stomach cancer.

“Their young players are the ones who came through,” said Luisita skipper Jeric Hechanova, referring to Canlubang players Abe and Pem Rosal, Damasus Wong, and Zaldy Villa.

Meanwhile, despite winning the final round, the Del Monte Golf Club’s cumulative score placed them in third place./JSG, WDJ
