Canlubang currently holds a four point lead over the Luisita Golf Club following yesterday’s opening of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) Interclub Golf Senior Tournament at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club, a par 70 course.

Damasus Wong played the back nine for Canlubang, where remained at par after landing one birdie and one bogey. He finished his round at 51 points.

“I didn’t hit too many fairways, but managed to save a lot of pars,” he said.

His teammates Abe Rosal and Pem Rosal each added 50 and 49 points, respectively.

Meanwhile, despite Luisita opening behind with 146 points, Jeric Hechanova still believes they have the edge.

“We’re going to get stronger as the tournament wears on,” he said.

Prior to the tournament opening, Hechanova expressed optimism for his team.

“We have a strong eight-man team and everyone is playing well,” he affirmed. “We’re not concerned with Canlubang – we’re not concerned with anyone else.”/JSG, WDJ
