A 22-year-old man was brought to a hospital in Bacolod City late Wednesday evening after he was robbed and stabbed in the downtown area of the city.
Police identified the victim as Fritz Michael Canieso, a resident of Barangay Handumanan in the said city.
Based on initial investigations by Police Station 1, Canieso finished work and was walking along Gonzaga Street when he was held-up by a still-unidentified suspect, who demanded he give up his belongings.
Despite Canieso yielding his belongings, the assailant stabbed him five times in the stomach before fleeing the crime scene.
The victim was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) following the incident.
Police, meanwhile, are presently probing the identity of the suspect./DGB, WDJ
