The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) recently revealed crime in the city declined by just over 54 percent, with 48 criminal incidents reported between February 16 to 22, a drop from the 105 recorded during the same period last year.
ICPO operations chief, Police Superintendent Jowel Saliba, credited law enforcement’s sustained maximum police visibility.
“Our presence 24/7 will surely protect the public from harm,” the police official affirmed. “We always make sure that we are connected to the community.”
Earlier in February, ICPO reported a drop in the crime rate of around 70 percent. At the time, Saliba credited recently passed city ordinances, including the curfew for minors and the mandatory closure of certain establishments at 2:00 a.m./PLL, WDJ
