A suspected drug personality eluded Victorias City police after a buy-bust operation was conducted late Tuesday afternoon at Purok Nueve Ajinomoto in the city’s Barangay 9.

Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jan Janausan, a resident of the said area and currently listed among drug personalities operating in the city.

Victorias City police chief, Police Superintendent German Garbosa, said Janausan sold one sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P500 during the operation.

However, after Janausan discovered he was dealing with an undercover cop, he fled.

Cops, meanwhile, tried to neutralize the suspect by shooting him, however, they were unable to open fire due to the area being dimly-lit, which posed a risk of striking innocent civilians in the area.

Garbosa added, police will still file illegal drugs charges against Janausan./DGB, WDJ
