Operatives conducting a surprise shakedown at the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ) in Barangay Taculing early yesterday morning found no illegal drugs on the premises.

The operation included personnel from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

However, several contraband, such as leather belts, spoons, barbecue sticks, and shanks, were recovered.

Jail warden, Jail Superintendent Larry Fuentes, thanked the 666 inmates of the facility for cooperating during the search./DGB, WDJ
