A San Carlos City Police Station officer narrowly escaped being shot by two gunmen at Phase III, Fatima Village in the city’s Barangay Rizal, yesterday morning.
Police identified the cop as Police Officer 3 (PO3) Alvin Allarce, a resident of the said city.
Based on reports by San Carlos City police, Allarce was driving his vehicle when two gunmen, one of them identified as Christopher Pacaña, blocked his way and shot at him.
Their shots, however, missed and Allarce managed to exit the vehicle and returned fire using his 9mm service pistol, wounding Pacaña.
The other gunman, whom police have refused to identify, escaped.
Pacaña was rushed to the city’s district hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound.
Investigators recovered three empty .45 caliber bullet shells and one empty 9mm shell.
San Carlos City police added, Pacaña, whom they identified as a drug personality, had a grudge against Allarce after the officer previously arrested him for illegal gambling charges./DGB, WDJ
