The Muhon Exhibition, a feature of the 2016 Venice Biennale, kicked off its regional tour yesterday in Bacolod City at the University of St. La Salle (USLS), where it will be on display until March 28.
According to Leandro Locsin, Jr., an architect and one of the curators of the exhibition, the feature tackles several pertinent social issues.
“The issues that this exhibit brings forth are not just architectural issues; issues like social justice, inequality, application on public sphere, responsibility of taking care of people, deep seated issues,” he explained. “It will affect people who think deeply.”
According to Locsin, the exhibition displays multiple rooms, each depicting different stages of time, opening with the “history” to “modernity” to “conjecture.”
Also among the curatorial team include architects Sudarshan Khadka, Jr. and Juan Paolo dela Cruz; alongside visual artists Poklong Anading, Tad Ermitaño, and Mark Salvatus./WDJ
