Negrense rhythmic gymnasts to represent Western Visayas at Palaro

After dominating the rhythmic gymnastics events at the 2018 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet in Iloilo City, which ended last week, Negros Occidental will be representing the Western Visayas region in the upcoming 2018 Palarong Pambansa, set to take place in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur this summer.

Grace Arinas of Paglaum Elementary School won the individual all-around event, along with taking gold in the hoop, club, freehand, and ball events.

Meanwhile, Leanna Mishka Cuansing of Bacolod Tay Tung High School took silver in freehand.

In addition, Negros Occidental also won the elementary team competition.

Joining them in the elementary delegation is Angel Tayco of Aklan, who won bronze in the ball and club events.

In the secondary division, Kiana Marie Alagaban of Bacolod Tay Tung High School won the individual all-around event, along with taking gold in the hoop, club, and ball events.

Althea Descutido from Trinity Christian School took silver in the all-around, rope, and hoop events.

In addition, Negros Occidental also won the secondary team competition./JSG, WDJ
