Western Visayas finishes third overall, earns football four-peat

The Western Visayas finished third overall at the 2018 National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) meet in Antique, where the team earned a total 40 gold, 38 silver, and 70 bronze medals.

Among the victories was in men’s football, where the region earned a four-peat, beating the Eastern Visayas, 6-1, in the finals. The team, bannered by students from the San Carlos City campus of Central Philippine State University, earned goals through Roynick Bernardo, Neil Tenebroso, Arnel Christian Marcellana, and Jasper Aguado

Meanwhile, the National Capital Region emerged as the overall champions, picking up 165 gold, 59 silver, and 45 bronze medals./JSG, WDJ

The Western Visayas earned a four-peat at the 2018 SCUAA meet in Antique, where they defeated Eastern Visayas, 6-1, in the finals.
