Bago City boxers sweep seven bouts

Bago City boxers swept all seven of their bouts during the quarterfinals of the PSC-Pacquiao Amateur Boxing Cup, which took place over the weekend at the Enan Chiong Activity Center in Naga City, Cebu.

Carlo Guevarra won in the youth boys’ light flyweight category, Nel Tambanillo won in the flyweight category, Jasper John Anda – bantamweight, Rodel Gamo – pinweight, Samuel Manale – light flyweight, Joshua Belicena – flyweight, and Flint Jara – light bantamweight.

“We are just lucky enough to win all our matches,” said coach Larry Semillano.

The winners next play in the semifinals, originally scheduled for a venue in Antique on March 10, but is now scheduled for Leyte on March 17./JSG, WDJ
