One dead, one wounded in Singcang-Airport shooting

One person was confirmed dead, while another was wounded, after they were shot by four unidentified gunmen at Purok Neptune in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, yesterday morning.
Police identified the fatality by the alias ‘Bugris,’ a resident of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental; while the wounded was identified as 35-year-old Raffy Cardenas, a resident of the said barangay.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, said, based on witness testimony,  around 2:00 a.m., Bugris was watching several people gamble in front of a store, when four gunmen in bonnets opened fire.
The gunmen also struck Cardenas, who happened to be in the area.
Bugris was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, but was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff. Cardenas, meanwhile, was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for treatment.
Investigators recovered one live and one empty shell of a 9mm bullet at the crime scene.
