Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. recently provided P6.3 million in financial assistance to fund several infrastructure projects in the municipality of Lambunao.
Among the projects include a classroom building for Caguisanan Elementary School; road concreting in various barangays; a box culvert, a concrete structure that allows for travel over a waterway; completion of the San Gregorio Bailey Bridge; hanging footbridges; among other projects.
Also included are a concrete overflow and slope protection project in the town’s Barangay San Gregorio, to be constructed in an effort to prevent flooding.
“Once these projects are complete, the residents, especially the students, will no longer suffer from the inconvenience of crossing the river,” said Barangay San Gregorio Captain Jose Glenn Lasado. “The problem, if not solved, is putting our lives in peril.”
He noted, when it rains, residents often have to wait three hours for waters to subside.
