A house owned by an engineer was burglarized last Saturday at Purok Voungavilla in Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the victim as 51-year-old home owner Lowell Grye.
Investigators from Himamaylan City Police Station said the suspects broke into Grye’s residence by destroying the cyclone fence at the back portion of the house and forcibly detaching the jalousie panes of the kitchen’s window.
Once inside, the robbers managed to take the family’s belongings without waking them up.
The suspects carted away cash amounting to P22,000, several high-value electronic gadgets and mobile phones, and a bag containing a 9mm pistol with 9mm bullets valued at P35,000.
Himamaylan City police are presently investigating the incident./DGB, WDJ
