A 38-year-old man was declared dead on the spot after he was allegedly shot by a still-unidentified gunman yesterday morning at Purok Tumpok in Barangay 15, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as Audie Verayo Tando, a resident of Purok Pugad Baboy in Barangay Zone 4 of the said city.

Talisay City police chief, Police Superintendent Adonis Rosales, said, around 2:00 a.m., residents in the area heard several gunshots; however, it took another hour and a half before a report of the shooting reached their station.

Rosales said Tando sustained several fatal gunshot wounds across his body, and Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered four empty .45 caliber shells at the crime scene.
