The Negros chapter of the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM) and the Negros Caucus of NGOs (non-government organizations) will be hosting a forum provincial development forum today, February 23, at Time Out Restaurant in Bacolod City.

The event, Forum on the Negros Development Situation: Prospects and Challenges for Local Civil Society Organizations and Social Movements, seeks to conduct an initial analysis of the provincial development situation, discuss perspectives on current issues and developments, define recommendations, and provide a venue for the next meeting.

Among those expected to participate in the event include representatives from people’s organizations and civil society formations, comprised of small farmers and small  fisherfolk, rural workers, women, youth and students, the urban poor, NGOs, and concerned professionals./WDJ
