Iloilo named overall champions in wushu

Iloilo dominated the secondary boys and girls divisions of the wushu competition, recently being named overall champions in both events at the ongoing 2018 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet in Iloilo City.

Jerson Parreno and Shun Karrin Barreta won gold in Group A (48 kg and 56 kg), Dave Doras won Group B (45 kg); while in the girls’ categories, Ghemlie Luna and Angelica Saludares won Group A, and Ghea Mae Gregorio and Maria Angelica Taliga won Group B (42 kg and 45 kg).

In addition, Joymar Biclar of Iloilo took bronze in Group A (52 kg).

Meanwhile, Negros Occidental took second place in both categories./JSG, WDJ
