Negrense athletes pick up medals in athletics

Negros Occidental continued to pick up medals in the ongoing 2018 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet at the Iloilo Sports Complex, with the most recent wins coming in various athletics events.

Several gold medals were won in secondary girls competitions, including Jennifer Hudierez in the 100 meters hurdles, Isabel Oqueriza in the 800 meters event, and Trexie dela Torre in the long jump.

Meanwhile, Rosalie Estillore took silver in the secondary girls 100 meters hurdles and Bernalyn Bejoy won bronze in the secondary girls 800 meters event.

Two gold medals were awarded in elementary girls division, Athena Rose Besana in the 800 meters event and Chrisha Jaguillon in the 100 meters hurdles.

On the boys side, Rey Benedict Abdy won bronze in the secondary boys 110 meters hurdles./JSG, WDJ
