A barangay tanod was wounded after being shot while trying to break-up a fight in Barangay Balaring, Silay City, Negros Occidental, Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as 30-year-old Barangay Balaring tanod Aldren Dubal.

Silay City police said Dubal was responding to a call for help after two rival groups started fighting in the area.

While he was trying to break-up the fight, one of the unidentified individuals pulled out a gun and opened fire, hitting Dubal in the left hand.

Dubal was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) following the incident.

Police are presently investigating the incident and are trying to identify the shooter./DGB, WDJ
