Fire guts business, residential establishment in Sipalay City

A fire destroyed a business and a residential establishment over the weekend in Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
Senior Fire Officer Manuel Casuyon, officer-in-charge of the Sipalay City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said they received a fire call around 6:00 p.m., reporting an establishment owned by Nepomuceno Bolao was ablaze.
The said establishment consisted of a grocery store, a bakery, and a refreshment stand on the first floor; the family’s residence was located on the second floor.
Casuyon said the fire lasted until 8:20 p.m.
Initial findings by arson investigators pointed out the blaze was “electrical in nature.”
Damage from the fire is valued around P3 million./DGB, WDJ
