After the recent passing of Special Project and Concerns Department head Ian de Ramos, the Negros Occidental provincial government said they have yet to name a replacement.
According to acting Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, his department, whose duties include preparing for the annual Panaad sa Negros Festival, will be placed under the Office of the Provincial Administrator.
She assured, operations would not be affected.
Gelvolea said, prior to de Ramos’ internment, which is scheduled for Monday, his remains will pass by the Provincial Capitol before heading to his final resting place at the Sanctuario de Bacolod in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City.
De Ramos passed away after a five-month long battle with liver cirrhosis.
He was considered one of the top organizers of the annual Panaad sa Negros Festival, among other celebrations and programs put on by the provincial government./DGB, WDJ
