Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corporation (MIB) general manager, Engr. Rolixto Jodieres, Jr., recently revealed the water supply in Iloilo is decreasing due to the Maasin watershed experiencing heavy siltation, when sediments in the water accumulate and become concentrated, which can negatively impact water quality.

MIB, a joint venture between the Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) and the MetroPacific Water Investment Corporation (MWIC), reported water production has reduced by 1,000 cubic meters of water a day (m3/d).

The source typically produces 40,000 m3/d.
