Sea travel resumed between Negros Occidental and Iloilo yesterday morning after the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) lifted storm signals for the two provinces.
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Bacolod station commander, Lieutenant Senior Grade Jimmy Oliver Vingno, said the travel suspension was lifted at 5:00 a.m. yesterday after a PAGASA bulletin showed Tropical Depression Basyang had already moved away from the region and was heading towards Palawan.
Earlier, around 200 passengers were stranded at the Bredco Port in Bacolod City after sea travel was suspended when the province was declared under a Storm Signal No. 1.
Travel between the eastern side of the province, heading to Cebu, was also affected by the suspension./DGB, WDJ
