Local accommodations, sporting venues undergoing inspections

With this year’s National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) meet scheduled to take place in Antique, beginning Sunday, February 18, and set to run until February 24, Antique Provincial Tourism officers are currently inspecting lodging facilities for athletes, along with sporting venues.

Antique Provincial Tourism Officer Jose Ramlo Villaluna said such facilities must be “clean” and “tourist-friendly.”

Accommodations and sporting venues for the event are located in Sibalom and San Jose de Buenavista; while additional lodging facilities are also available in Belison.

Sporting events are also expected to be played in Hamtic.

According to Villaluna, they are expecting 6,000 to 8,000 athletes to participate in the games./PLL, WDJ
