A pedestrian was injured after he was hit by a van, which was subsequently struck by a passenger bus, along the national highway in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City, late Sunday evening.

Police identified the injured as 45-year-old Richard Amar, a resident of Villa Esperanza in the said barangay.

Based on eyewitness accounts, Amar was crossing in the pedestrian lane when he was hit by a speeding van driven by 47-year-old Alfonso Panaogon.

As the van stopped, it was struck in the rear by a passenger bus driven by 31-year-old Joe Vincent Andren.

The impact forced the van forward nearly 50 meters.

Amar was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment, while no one else was reported injured in the incident.

Both Panaogon and Andren, meanwhile, were brought to Police Station 8 following the incident./DGB, WDJ
