Both Coca-Cola and Pepsi to be banned

Organizers of this year’s Bacolaodiat Festival announced all beverage companies using high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) will be barred during the duration of the festival, which is set to begin tomorrow, February 15, and run until February 19.
The sweeping ban means both Coca-Cola and Pepsi products will be barred from the event.
Organizers noted, San Mig Cola will be available as they reportedly use 100 percent Philippine sugar.
“This is in support of the sugar industry, city officials, and the campaign against HFCS,” organizers added.
Last December, it was announced only Coca-Cola products would be banned, after festival organizers abided by demands from United Sugar Producers Federation of the Philippines President Manuel Lamata, who called for a ban./DGB, WDJ
