The Iloilo City government, in partnership with the Panay chapter of the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and Iloilo Sun Yat Sen High School, Inc., kicked off their Lunar New Year celebration with a program at the SM City Iloilo activity center yesterday, which festivities scheduled to run until Sunday, February 18.
Cultural presentations and performances are scheduled to take place throughout the week. Sun Yat Sen High School of Iloilo, Inc. and Hua Siong College of Iloilo (HSCI) will be performing today, February 13, at Jalandoni Memorial Elementary School, Uswag San Isidro Elementary School, I. Arroyo Elementary School, and A. Montes 1 Elementary School.
The SM City Iloilo activity center will also host several cultural shows with Iloilo Scholastic Academy performing tomorrow, February 14; the HSCI Lions and Dragons Team will put on shows on Saturday, February 17; and Sun Yat Sen High School of Iloilo, Inc. will present on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the city government will be hosting a Chinese New Year Luncheon at the Casa Real de Iloilo on Thursday, February 15.
A Chinese New Year mass will also be celebrated at the Santa Maria Parish on Sunday./WDJ
