Ebreo: Offender could face up to six years in jail
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
After taking notice of a social media post by a foreign national depicting the image of a Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) citation ticket with profane language directed at the said office, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, said the individual could face criminal charges on the grounds of “cyber libel.”
He said the public must respect BTAO enforcers.
The BTAO chief noted, if proven the foreign national was indeed responsible for the social media post, the action may result in a maximum prison sentence of six years.
The alleged offender, whose nationality was not revealed, may also be reported to their respective embassy./DGB, WDJ
