La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan recently said the construction of the P200 million agri-tourism road project, part of the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Pamana) Program, is currently underway.

“We are banking on the development of more road network projects to boost our agriculture and tourism sectors,” she said.

The mayor explained, the access roads connect farmers to markets and link tourists to local destinations.

Nicor-Mangilimutan also pointed out future Pamana projects are also pending implementation, including road concreting projects in Barangays Camandag, Sag-Ang, and Manghanoy.

The Barangay Cabacungan project, which has been provided P5.1 million from the provincial government, is scheduled to commence next month.

The project in Barangay Manghanoy would provide for an evacuation route should Mt. Kanlaon erupt; while the Barangay Sag-Ang has already been provided P7.7 million from the Sugar Regulatory Administration./DGB, WDJ
