Sipalay City police seize P12,000 worth of shabu

Sipalay City police arrested a suspect drug courier, seizing around P12,000 worth of shabu, at a transport terminal along Lacson Street in Barangay 1, Sipalay City, late Wednesday evening.

Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Steven Garcia, a resident of Greenville 1, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.

Sipalay City police chief, Police Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, said he received a call from an informant around Wednesday afternoon claiming Garcia would pick-up an undetermined quantity of shabu from the said terminal.

Vargas ordered his men to tail Garcia and arrested him on the spot after confirming he picked up the package of shabu, which reportedly originated in Bacolod City.

Upon opening the box, they discovered one big sachet of suspected shabu.

Garcia is facing charges in violation of Section 11 of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs act of 2002.

The suspect is presently detained at the Sipalay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
