Five Lemery youths to attend Winter Olympics, international talks

The local chapter of the Saemaul Undong movement, a rural community development initiative based in South Korea, recently revealed five volunteers from Lemery, Iloilo were invited to take part in the ongoing 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Youth Experience and International Project Talks, which ends on Tuesday, February 13.

The group is comprised of Philippine Saemaul International Development Project Coordinator August Melody Andong, Kennie Aposaga, Christopher Geaga, Antonio Apelacio, Jr., and Jeanne Michaella Anthonette Nanquil.

Events include visiting Saemaul Undong project sites; participating in international youth development exchanges; along with attending some Olympic events, including the ski jump and the opening ceremonies, which are scheduled to take place tomorrow, February 9.

The group was invited by the Wonju City government and the Gangwon-do Saemaul Undong Center.

Last week, the local affiliate celebrated its fourth anniversary in Iloilo with members of the Philippine chapter conducting events in the towns of Oton and Lemery./PLL, WDJ
