Kaya FC, which played in the 2017 Philippines Football League (PFL) as Kaya FC-Makati, will officially change home venues today, February 6, when a memorandum of agreement is signed between Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. and Una Kaya Futbol Club, Inc. General Manager Paul Antoine Tolentino.
Once the agreement is complete, the club will be known as Kaya FC-Iloilo.
The signing is scheduled to take place at 12:00 noon in the Governor’s Boardroom, located in the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
“[The signing] sets many advantages to the province, not only in terms of sports development, but also in sports tourism,” said sports consultant Pablito Araneta.
Under the agreement, the Iloilo Sports Complex, located in the La Paz district of Iloilo City, will become the club’s new home; and the Iloilo Sports Development and Management Office will serve as the club’s program coordinating office.
Meanwhile, pending budget capabilities, the province will install lights at the sporting venue in order to comply by national and international football standards./JAN, WDJ
