A Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) investigator recently recommended charges of neglect, which could lead to an administrative case, against three unnamed Iloilo City District Jail (ICDJ) guards after they failed to notice a prisoner, who is a suspected drug personality, using a mobile phone while being detained.
Last month, after a Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) drug bust revealed two minors were believed to be working as drug runners for Werjun Tañate, the said inmate, investigators found he had been communicating with the two via text message.
Senior Jail Officer Felix Servidad has since submitted the recommendation to BJMP-6 Assistant Director Gilbert Peremne./WDJ
