Summit wins, Ultimo remains winless in Class B

Summit recently defeated Ultimo, 83-65, notching a third win for the former and keeping the latter winless in Class B of the ongoing Fil-Sino Athletic Club Asia Brewery Invitational Cup 2018 at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Ultimo opened the game with a 22-14 lead in the opening quarter, however, Summit pulled ahead 44-40 at the half.

Summit then continued to pull away, heading into the final period with a 66-46 advantage.

Efraim Valencia led the win with 20 points, followed by Dandan Ong with 14 points, and Kieron Tan with 11. Despite the loss, Mark Binguan managed to score 21 points for Ultimo.

In the other game, Sunkist beat Barista, 74-71.

Barista led at the break, 41-39, and continued to dominate, heading into the fourth quarter up 57-55. However, Monroe Chua and Chibon Uy delivered for Sunkist in the final period, giving them the advantage towards the end of the game.

Ruel Bahian led the winners with 14 points, followed by Uy with 13, and Chua with 10.

Luigi Coo, meanwhile, scored 18 points for Barista./JSG, WDJ
