The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) recently announced they would equip the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) as part of its drive to combat illegal drugs in the city.
In an interview with City Councilor Caesar Distrito yesterday, he said the committee on finance will finalize their request to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who will endorse it for approval by the SP.
BCPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, earlier indicated, among the equipment requested were body cameras, which would assist in identifying suspects conducting illegal activities; along with the formation of a K-9 unit.
He explained, a K-9 unit would allow them to detect the smuggled illegal drugs.
The BCPO director added, they also need around 311 additional police officers to maintain peace and order in the city./DGB, WDJ
