Silay City Mayor Mark Golez ordered city police chief, Police Superintendent Noel Polines, to capture local drug lord Michael Divinagracia “dead or alive.”

In a recent interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Golez said the arrest or death of Divinagracia would be the only solution to ending illegal drugs in the city.

Golez stated, even though police in Iloilo arrested Jose Alberto Kilayko Pinaga and his live-in partner, Maebelle Belmonte Poblador, who attempted to bring in P18 million worth of shabu into the province, it is possible more people would replace them as long as Divinagracia continued operating his illegal drugs business.

Earlier, Pinaga and Poblador were arrested by operatives from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) during a buy-bust operation inside the Dumangas Port. It was later revealed, the two are reportedly linked to Divinagracia, who has links with the Aki Cuadra robbery group.

Both suspects are presently incarcerated at the Dumangas Municipal Police Station./DGB, WDJ
