The Negros Occidental Provincial Board recently approved the construction of the P10 million Negros First Animal Hub, which will be used as a venue for local stock raisers to sell their livestock and meat products.
“In this facility, producers will no longer need middlemen as they could sell their products directly to consumers, which could give them more profit,” said Provincial veterinarian, Dr. Renante Decena.
The structure, said to help around 20,000 local stock raisers, is expected to be completed in time for the Panaad sa Negros Festival in April.
The facility will also provide trainings; along with technical and operational services for raisers, expected to be staffed by veterinarians, technicians, and para-veterinarians./DGB, WDJ
