The Philippine Heart Association (PHA), a group comprised of cardiologists, is inviting the public to observe World Heart Month, which takes place throughout February.

The group will be hosting an event called “Heart Month 2018: Power Your Heart” on February 11, beginning at 6:00 a.m. at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds. The program seeks to promote public awareness of cardiovascular disease, which is the leading cause of death worldwide.

The event will include free medical screenings; a lecture on 52100, a PHA advocacy campaign regarding heart health, a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) demonstration, and a Zumba program.

According to PHA-Negros chapter president, Dr. Alan Tenerife, free t-shirts will be available for early arrivals, along with prizes during the Zumba event./DGB, WDJ
