After a certain Alan Richard Bisula Lacson made remarks on social media, claiming the Himoga-an Bridge project in Sagay City was overpriced, speculating it costs in excess of P300 million, executive assistant Eric Loretizo yesterday clarified the figures associated with the project.
He pointed out, the Negros Occidental provincial government is looking to commence various projects, to be funded by the Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP), among them are the said bridge and the connecting Baviera-Bato Road.
“Actual work on both projects – with an aggregate total of P141.86M – has not yet started,” Loretizo explained. “The first one [has] just been bid out, and the second one still being proposed with the PRDP.”
He added, according to Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa, the initial portion of the project has been bidded out for P61.86 million.
The provincial official called such comments “innuendo” and “black propaganda,” suggesting the individual who posted it to consult Provincial Engineer’s Office and PRDP officials to get “the correct data.”/DGB, WDJ
