Amid the recent relaunch of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Oplan Tokhang program, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday said the campaign against illegal drugs needs to be “continuing and non-stop.”
During a press conference, the mayor predicted the number of individuals surrendering to law enforcement will increase due to the program, but noted, Bacolod City is not a hotspot for illegal drugs.
“We may have problems, but we are not among those who are considered to be very seriously infested,” Leonardia affirmed.
The mayor also appealed to the general public to be more active in informing police about drug-related incidents.

Leonardia said, if authorities receive numerous drug-related reports, some may not be true, but authorities should remain vigilant./NC, WDJ
