The Office of the Ombudsman-Region VI is currently conducting a reassessment of the Iloilo City Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), which is seeking to earn a Blue Certification Level III.

“We were given Level II certification in October 2015,” said BPLO chief Norman Tabud. “As of now, only Iloilo City and Cagayan de Oro have reached Level II; if we will get this award, we will be the first local government unit to achieve it.”

“It also means that we are compliant with the standards set by the national government, particularly by the Ombudsman,” he added.

The office must comply by 87 standards of the Business Processing System in order to be approved for Level III certification.

“I think we already surpassed the 78 requirements of the Ombudsman,” said Tabud./WDJ
