Operatives from the Bacolod City and Kabankalan City Criminal Investigation Detection Groups (CIDG) recovered several firearms and an explosive device following a raid in Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City, yesterday morning.
Police identified the suspects as 46-year-old Rommel Villarosa and 23-year-old Romnick Villarosa, both residents of Purok Mataba at Crossing Balo in the said barangay.
The raid was carried out after Judge Jose Manuela Lopez of the Kabankalan City Municipal Trial Courts in Cities issued a search warrant against the suspects for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
A search of the suspects’ home yielded a 12-gauge shotgun, a Colt Mk4 .45 caliber pistol, STI .45 caliber pistol, an Ithaca 9mm pistol, an Armscor .38 caliber revolver, and a fragmentation grenade.
The suspects are presently under the custody of the CIDG-Bacolod and are facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and explosives./DGB, WDJ
