Two suspected drug personalities were left wounded following a shootout with police during a Sunday evening buy-bust operation in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City.
Police identified the suspects as 40-year-old Henjie Mosquida, a resident of Purok Abada Escay in the said barangay; 28-year-old Francis Bravo, a resident of Fortune Town in Barangay Estefania; and 31-year-old Jimmy Deker, also a resident of Purok Abada Escay.
Police Station 7 (PS7) commander, Police Senior Inspector Ramil Sarona, said during the joint anti-drug operation with Police Station 5 (PS5), which was targeting Mosquida, their undercover cop bought a sachet of suspected shabu worth P300 from the three suspects.
However, Mosquida discovered his buyer was a police officer, prompting him to run back inside his house, while Bravo and Deker pulled out firearms and started firing at the cops.
Law enforcement returned fire, hitting both Bravo and Deker, forcing them to surrender.
Mosquida was also arrested after police cornered him inside his residence.
Police recovered 11 sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, two improvised shotguns, and one plastic bag containing suspected marijuana.
Authorities also recovered P1,370 in cash suspected to be drug money.
All three are presently detained at PS5 and are facing illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms charges./DGB, WDJ
