Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) spokesperson, Police Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, recently announced their department would continue to monitor its police officers to ensure no wrongdoing is committed among their ranks.
Based on recent data, the effort resulted in the dismissal of 18 officers last year.
“PRO-6 does not tolerate any wrongdoing of its personnel,” he affirmed.
Gorero noted, the recent salary increase is also an incentive to continue on the right track. The matter was previously raised by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. earlier this month, who urged police to never engage in illegal activity and to “do what is right,”
From a total 62 resolved administrative cases in 2017, 19 police officers have been suspended and another six were demoted./PLL, WDJ
