A notorious robber believed to be responsible for several vehicle break-ins around the downtown Bacolod City area was arrested at the Bacolod Central Market, Sunday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Roger Alquerro, a resident of the said city.
Police Station 1 (PS1) commander, Police Senior Inspector Leo Estopa, said Alquerro was nabbed after he allegedly tried pickpocketing a woman passing by the market.
During the incident, Estopa said members of the anti-theft monitoring team were conducting a patrol in the area.
Aside from the victim’s wallet, police also recovered one big sachet of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and a .45 caliber pistol with six live bullets.
Alquerro is facing charges of theft, and possession of illegal drugs and illegal firearms.
Estopa, meanwhile, urged Alquerro’s victims to surface and file charges against the suspect./DGB, WDJ
