Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region VI (PDEA-6) Director Wardly Getalia yesterday said they are currently monitoring “new players” in the illegal drug trade.

According to earlier statements by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., based on individuals under police custody following recent anti-illegal drug operations, he said new drug dealers are currently being recruited.

Getalia noted, many under arrest for illegal drugs are not on drugs watchlists.

He also believes those who are already identified are either laying low in order to avoid the authorities or have stopped completely./DGB, WDJ
