A 26-year-old man was recently arrested after he was mauled by bystanders who claim he was attempting to rape two minors at Purok Kamonsil in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.
Police identified the suspect as Bernie Lachica, a resident of the said barangay.
Based on a report released by Police Station 3 (PS3), Lachica allegedly snuck into a home in the area and tried to sexually assault two female minors.
The minors’ shouts for help were heard by several bystanders, prompting them to rush into the home.
Lachica was then mauled repeatedly after he was cornered.
Police later arrived to arrest Lachica and brought him to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) after sustaining several cuts and bruises.
Lachica is presently detained at PS3./DGB, WDJ
