A memorandum of agreement was recently signed between the San Carlos City government and the municipal governments of Calatrava and Toboso allowing the two towns to dump their waste in the San Carlos City landfill.

San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor, Jr., Calatrava Mayor Araceli Somosa, and Toboso Mayor Richard Jaojoco signed for their respective local government units.

Somosa said Calatrava is currently in the process of establishing its own waste management facility, while Jaojoco said his jurisdiction is “barely capable” of establishing its own landfill./WDJ
